Tour Description

The archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán was ordered to be built in the 15th century by Inca Pachacútec, although it was not completed before the arrival of the Spanish. Located 5 km north of Cusco, its zigzag-shaped walls are often compared to european fortresses. It is a megalithic structure containing residential complexes around a courtyard. It was the setting of Manco Inca’s rebellion in 1536 and is currently the site of the Inti Raymi festival every June.

Sacsayhuamán offers a powerful experience: walking among its giant walls and observing the precise stone assembly. Horseback riding around its ruins provides a broader view with less physical effort, allowing visitors to explore and contemplate this complex in a different way.
